Dear Families,

Here is the registration packet for East Montpelier Community Connections Session #3 Programs. Please look over the enclosed materials and discuss them with your kids so as a family you may decide which classes you would like to sign up for.

In this packet you will find:

  • After-School Program Registration Form / Adult Volunteer Form
  • Course descriptions for the After-School Program

è    If your kids are interested in signing up for anything, please complete the packet and return it to school by Monday, February 15th (Sooner is better!) We will accept registrations after that date, but class size is limited and there may be no available spaces left for your child, or classes may have been cancelled due to low enrollment.

Just a few things:

  • We are currently charging a sliding scale fee of $8-14/day. This allows us to take full advantage of state subsidies which many families are using. I have included a Family Income Guideline to help you determine the amount to pay. It is a suggested guideline, and we ask you to indicate on the sign-up form the highest amount you can afford to support the program and promote its sustainability.
  • As always, alternative funding (state subsidies, reduced fees, volunteering in exchange for participation, scholarships, etc.) is available if cost is a concern (talk to Guy Viens or Roddy Cooke.) We want to make sure everyone who wants to can attend, regardless of cost!
  • Space is limited, so your child may not be able to participate in all classes they sign up for. A confirmation letter will be sent home on Friday, December 18th letting you know which classes your child got into.
  • Payment is due March 8th. Please make every effort to pay on time. Large balances may be split in half, with the balance due by April 1st.
  • Please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor recess (hats, jackets, snow pants, boots, mittens, etc.) All kids will go outside daily for a recess break before our programs start.
  • After school programs run from 3:35-5:30pm, with pick-up at 5:30pm.
  • A late fee will be charged if you are more than 10 minutes late. If you have not made prior arrangements with Guy, you will be charged a late fee of $5 for every 15 minutes (i.e. arriving at 5:50, or 20 minutes late, will result in a $10.00 late fee.)
  • If you have any questions, please contact Guy at the number listed above.

Thanks,

Guy Viens,

If these guidelines don’t match your ability to pay, and you want to discuss it, or explore alternative funding options (VT Child Care Subsidy Program, reduced fees, volunteering in exchange for participation, scholarships, etc.), please contact Guy Viens at 223-7936 x305

*Families at this level should explore whether they qualify for assistance through the Vermont Child Care Subsidy Program.

If you cannot pay within the sliding scale, you will be asked to apply for subsidies before any reduced rates or scholarship

funds will be awarded.
