It's PTNO Funding Allocation Time!

Please note the following dates to submit requests for funding to the PTNO

for the 2010-2011 school year:

Deadline for request submissions is April 12th

Presentations of requests at April 28th PTNO meeting at 6:30
Vote on presentations at May 12th PTNO meeting, at 6:30

PTNO January Meeting Minutes

PTNO – Parent, Teacher, Neighbor Organization

Funding Allocation

- Dates will be posted in school newsletter starting March 11th

- Presentations at PTNO meeting April 28th at 6:30

- Vote on presentations at next PTNO meeting, May 12th at 6:30

- Deadline for request submissions is April 12th

 

PTNO April meeting date changed to April 28th (from April 14th)

 

Staff Appreciation

- At least two coordinators are needed

   - Amy Lincoln Moore and Linda Meleady volunteered

 

PTNO Website

- Goal is to state PTNO purpose and mission

- Submissions made to Kate Torrey to be posted on website

- Link requested from home page of EMES website to PTNO page

- Roddy would like to use Monday morning meetings as a connection to students.

  PTNO can make announcements a our meetings, i.e. RIF, etc.

 

Volunteer needed to coordinate with Guy Viens (C.C.)  in regards to end-of-year picnic in June.

 

Mud Season Carnival

- Brief history of what is known from past events

  - Approx. 3 hour event with old time games, carnival food sales, face painting

  - Punch card of some sort to earn prizes

- Format open to interpretation, but coordinator is needed

- Email will be sent out indicating need for coordinator; many at meeting willing to help, but not able to coordinate.

- General committees needed would be:

  - Food

  - Fundraisers

  - Activities

  - Decorations/Creative

  - Prizes

  - Advertising

  - Set up

  - Clean up

- Suggestion that events such as this, sponsored by the PTNO could be used as an opportunity for groups operating

in the school to fund-raise (i.e. Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, C.C., class trips).

 

Art show for K-2 will be hold March 25th, May 20th for older grades. Request for PTNO to provide refreshments.

 

Discussion of promoting PTNO, suggestion to promote in class newsletters.

- Jane Knight will type up a note and distribute to teachers for insertion.

 

Discussion of revisions needed to 2 Hour Volunteer form to include more detailed information.

- Sara Garland will work with Jane Burroughs to update the form for '10-'11 year

 

Discussion of upcoming Internet Safety night - PTNO to provide childcare/refreshments

 

PTNO representative invited to attend board meetings to update board on PTNO activities.

 - Also suggested that PTNO could provide update to Roddy to share with the board.
