Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our end-of-the-year picnic was a delicious event! Thank you to all who attended to celebrate our volunteers and our departing staff members- leaving us for new experiences: Kate Torrey and Ben Weiss; and retiring after wonderful careers at EMES- Carolyn Pastore and Linda Royce. Despite the threatening skies we had a wonderful turnout!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 We have made it through the first HOT days of the year! The “White House” (our modular classrooms) were much too hot for effective teaching and learning. Even with a thorough cool-off in the early hours (fans blowing in the cool air), by early afternoon the classrooms were over 90 degrees. We used the art room and the outdoors on Tuesday, and the library and outdoors on Wednesday. While this disrupted some of our programs, staff and students displayed wonderful flexibility.

Dear Parents, Guardians, Families, and Friends,

   Many thanks and congratulations to Pam Dunkling and Heidemarie Holmes-Heiss for another fantastic night of the arts.  Ms. Holmes-Heiss has been busy for over two weeks mounting and hanging artwork throughout our hallways.  Ms. Dunkling’s dedication and professionalism shows in the level of talent she is able to encourage from our students.  Last night, students were able to show off their diverse talents to the community, and the response from their audience lets them know that we value more in our education than just the report cards and grades.
